BMW has announced a number of updates for the 2023 R 1250 RS, including the addition of a number of previously optional features as standard equipment. The price of the bike remains unchanged.
The most significant change is the addition of BMW's Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as standard equipment. DTC is a rider-adjustable traction control system that helps to prevent the rear wheel from spinning out under acceleration. It is also available on the R 1250 GS and R 1250 RT.
Other new standard features for the 2023 R 1250 RS include a Gear Shift Assist Pro, which automatically blips the throttle when downshifting, and a Hill Start Control, which prevents the bike from rolling back when starting on a hill.
The R 1250 RS also gets a new paint option for 2023, called Option 719 Frozen Dark Metallic. This matte black paint is available in conjunction with the Sport Package, which adds a number of performance-oriented upgrades, including a sport suspension, a sport exhaust, and a quickshifter.
