South Korea has asked Serbia to cooperate in its investigation into the collapse of TerraUSD (UST), a stablecoin that lost its peg to the US dollar earlier this month.
The request was made by South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) to the Serbian Ministry of Finance on June 14. The FSC said that it believes Kwon Do-hyung, the founder of Terraform Labs, the company behind TerraUSD, is currently in Serbia.
The FSC said that it is seeking information from Serbia on Kwon's whereabouts and assets, as well as any information that could help with the investigation into the collapse of TerraUSD.
The collapse of TerraUSD has caused a ripple effect across the cryptocurrency market, with the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies falling sharply. The FSC is concerned that the collapse of TerraUSD could have a negative impact on the financial stability of South Korea.
The Serbian government has not yet responded to the request from the FSC.
