**Mercedes-Benz X-Class discontinued due to gloomy sales**
Mercedes-Benz has discontinued the X-Class pickup truck, citing gloomy sales. The German automaker said it will stop production of the X-Class from May 2020.
The X-Class was launched in 2017 as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Nissan. It was based on the Nissan Navara pickup truck, but it featured a number of Mercedes-Benz styling cues and features.
The X-Class was initially well-received by critics, but sales were slow. Mercedes-Benz blamed the slow sales on a number of factors, including the high price of the X-Class and the fact that it was only available in a few markets.
The discontinuation of the X-Class is a blow to Mercedes-Benz, as it was the automaker's first foray into the pickup truck market. However, Mercedes-Benz says that it is still committed to the pickup truck segment, and it is planning to launch a new pickup truck in the future.
