Các quy định nêu rõ rằng ô tô trong danh mục mới phải có trọng lượng tối thiểu 1.200 kg và công suất tối đa là 650 mã lực.Chúng cũng phải được trang bị hộp số tuần tự và khung gầm monocoque bằng sợi carbon.
FIA nói rằng danh mục mới sẽ cung cấp một sự thay thế thú vị và cạnh tranh hơn cho đua xe GT3, và nó sẽ thu hút một thế hệ trình điều khiển mới cho môn thể thao này.

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has published the technical regulations for the new Grand Tourer Motor Racing category, which will see cars capable of reaching speeds of more than 320 km/h.
The new category is designed to bridge the gap between GT3 and Formula 1, and will feature cars that are more powerful and technologically advanced than GT3 cars, but not as fast as Formula 1 cars.
The regulations state that cars in the new category must have a minimum weight of 1,200 kg and a maximum power output of 650 hp. They must also be equipped with a sequential gearbox and a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis.
The FIA says that the new category will provide a more exciting and competitive alternative to GT3 racing, and that it will attract a new generation of drivers to the sport.
