**Grayscale Says Institutions Invested Record $900M in Crypto Products in Q2**
Grayscale Investments, the world's largest digital asset manager, said on Wednesday that institutions invested a record $900 million in its crypto products in the second quarter of 2022.
The firm said that its total assets under management (AUM) increased to $43.2 billion in Q2, up from $34.1 billion in Q1. The bulk of the inflows came from its Bitcoin Trust, which saw its AUM grow by $500 million to $31.2 billion.
Grayscale's Ethereum Trust also saw strong inflows, with its AUM increasing by $250 million to $10.3 billion. The firm's other crypto products, including its Litecoin Trust, Bitcoin Cash Trust, and Ethereum Classic Trust, also saw inflows in Q2.
"The second quarter of 2022 was another record-breaking period for Grayscale," said Michael Sonnenshein, CEO of Grayscale Investments. "We saw strong demand from institutional investors for our products, as they continue to see the benefits of digital assets as a long-term investment."
The inflows into Grayscale's products come as the broader cryptocurrency market has been volatile in recent months. Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, has lost more than half of its value since its peak in November.
However, Grayscale believes that the long-term outlook for cryptocurrencies remains positive. The firm said that it is seeing increasing interest from institutional investors who are looking to diversify their portfolios with digital assets.
"We believe that the current market volatility is a temporary setback, and that the long-term trend for digital assets is still up," Sonnenshein said. "We continue to see strong demand from institutional investors for our products, and we believe that this demand will only continue to grow in the years to come."
