FX has released the official trailer for its upcoming new series Legion, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The series stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a young man who is diagnosed with schizophrenia and is later revealed to be a mutant with powerful telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of David's life as he struggles to come to terms with his powers and his place in the world. We see him interacting with other mutants, including Syd Barrett (Rachel Keller), a woman with the ability to switch bodies with other people; Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), the head of a psychiatric hospital where David is being treated; and Charles Xavier (Jeffrey Wright), the founder of the X-Men.
Legion is created by Noah Hawley, who previously worked on the FX series Fargo. The series is executive-produced by Hawley, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner. Legion is scheduled to premiere on FX on February 8, 2017.
